Frequently asked questions

Do I need to build a new website?

No. Add a script to your current website to show an inquiry button, or link the inquiry form link to a button or menu. You can also just change the submit address of your existing inquiry form. First check whether your website builder allows inserting code.

Can I receive inquiries without a website?

Yes. The ‘inquiry form link’ is an inquiry page provided by Linktalk. Share this link with customers, and the inquiries they write come into your Linktalk inbox.

How do customers get replies after closing the window?

If they’re looking at the messenger window, they get the reply in that chat window. If they closed it and left a contact with consent to reply notifications, they’re also notified by text or email. Repeat notifications are limited to once every 10 minutes. Inquiries left through the inquiry form are answered to the phone number or email the customer entered.

Can I show the inquiry button on specific pages only?

Yes. In settings, you can choose all pages, only selected pages, or all except selected pages. You can also change the button position, greeting, business hours, and shortcuts.

Is it okay if the connection address is visible on my website?

The website connection address is a public address used to leave inquiries. It isn’t a secret key that reads your inbox. If you create a new address, existing buttons, links, and forms stop immediately, so reconnect them with the new address.

I changed settings, but they don’t show right away.

It can take up to 5 minutes because of widget script caching. If you turn website connection off, the inquiry button disappears on newly loaded pages, and the inquiry form and receiving address can’t be used.
